Building on our rich Johns Hopkins history, our research is designed to rigorously evaluate our own programs, foster pilot research using traditional controlled designs, provide collaborative opportunities for other researchers, and conduct an array of studies that are jointly designed with our community partners. Understanding how best to improve and optimize the community's health will require jointly developed research questions, observational studies and interventions. Our team is poised to generate these research questions from the community, academia, and public health officials. Our questions are social, cultural, biological, and behavioral. We will seek traditional and nontraditional research sponsorship and work in what that assures the community's power in addressing issues of importance to all of us. We welcome all researchers and people with important questions to be addressed to join us in important areas of community health and health care.
